Unit 1 Benefits Update

Effective September 1st, 2022, eligible Unit 1 members are now automatically enrolled in the StudentVIP benefits plan. The employer has stated that there would be an “expected” blackout period of approximately 1 month following the start of the term. Any eligible expenses that occurred during this time can be submitted manually for reimbursement. 

As of October 16th, all eligible members should have received a welcome package in their Trent emails from StudentVIP. If you have not received your welcome package we urge you to check your junk folder. If you have checked your email and your junk mail and you believe that you should have received a welcome package, but have not, please contact us at office@cupe3908.org.

Not sure if you’re eligible? Unit 1 members are eligible if:

  • You are not in receipt of an alternative benefit plan from Trent, another employer, or have coverage from a spouse.
  • You have worked greater than 100 hours in any two terms in the preceding 12 months.
