The Moment You Walk In The Door

What will you learn? This a dynamic workshop that contextualizes current day issues experienced by marginalized sexual orientations, gender diverse and intersex students, co-workers, and individuals that are coming into your classroom, lab, or other setting. We will discuss intersectional identities, explore the Social Determinants of Health and countering systemic bias, clarify terminology, address issues related to gender identity and expression, and share best practice tips to create welcoming spaces.

This is an interactive workshop that aims to provide a non-judgemental experience, to engage and ask questions related to personal and professional development.

Training provided by anya gwynne.  anya gwynne is a queer educator and gender disruptor, who leans into awkward conversations, weaving connections. Over the last 15 years, they have engaged service providers, educators, and communities to create inclusive spaces and affirming services for 2S/LGBTQIA+ people.

Who can attend this free workshop?  All CUPE 3908 Members and all community members are welcome to attend this workshop. This is an ideal opportunity to learn how to be a better ally to the trans community. All knowledge levels are welcome.
